The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies to the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering services like new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency claimed it can be alarmed about the superior quantity of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the substantial quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is due to the lack sassa of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office dedicated to service the area on a sassa status daily basis. The service level developed for intervention encounters a significant influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it tricky to the office to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra resources to enable the servicing of all customers and maximize use of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
